GCSE Maths Tutor
Steve is a newly joined member of Kapasi Maths tutoring having been a member of the team since March 2020. However, he has many years of tutoring experience, starting within a school setting, working with the students within his own school to improve their GCSE grades, and eventually branching out into private tutoring in 2017.
Steve grew up in Crewe and attended Keele University at both under-graduate and post-graduate stages of his education. He received a BSC(Hons) in History and Politics and then a PGCE in History teaching.

In 2008, during his his second year of teaching, Steve was offered the chance to participate in the Maths Development Programme for Teachers (MDPT), at Keele University.
From then onwards he has taught maths at various secondary schools within the Stoke-on-Trent area, currently working in the excellent maths department at The Excel Academy. During his time at the Academy, Steve has focused on the teaching and learning of maths with particular regard for ‘Teaching for Mastery’ (TfM) and has been the TfM lead across Stoke-on-Trent schools, helping to train and support other teachers in the practice.

Steve has developed into an experienced and skilled practitioner, and taught pupils’ whose GCSE results over the past 5 years in school have been excellent. He puts the same effort and dedication into private tutoring as he does to all of the pupils he teaches.
Away from the classroom Steve’s interests include football, golf, reading, listening to music, being outdoors, cooking and socialising with friends.
