GCSE Maths Tutor
After graduating with a BSc Honours degree in Physics from the University of Leeds, Andy had a very successful career with technical and managerial roles in the manufacturing industry but later decided it was time for a new challenge.
In 2003, Andy retrained as a teacher, gaining his Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Manchester Metropolitan University. Since then, he has worked at several secondary schools teaching Mathematics, Science, as well as Design and Technology before retiring last year.
Andy has been tutoring students and helping with them with their Maths for a number of years and has also delivered revision courses and marked exam papers at both GCSE and A Level.
In addition to excellent subject knowledge, Andy has a passion for his subject, which helps enthuse all students. He enjoys working with students of all abilities and is excellent at developing his learners' confidence. His tutoring session are relaxed but purposeful and Andy has a proven record of improving his students' grades.
Away from the classroom, Andy enjoys travel, cookery, doing puzzles and taking part in quizzes (he has appeared on a number of TV shows , including Countdown, Eggheads and Tipping Point).
